Before You Report
- Do not share codes: never provide one-time passcodes or account credentials.
- Save evidence: keep messages, screenshots, and payment requests.
- Document the story: record what happened in a short timeline.
What to Include
- Names used, phone numbers, email addresses, URLs, and social handles
- Payment methods requested (wire, gift cards, crypto, checks)
- Any reference numbers, invoices, or “case IDs” provided by the scammer
- How you were contacted and the exact wording that was used
